In case you don't remember Tom was also the first recipient of the "Tom Schroeppel Award" in 2004. This award is given to media professionals who make outstanding contributions to our community.

Dear Friends and Associates,

Media Professionals of Florida, Inc. is comprised of professionals working primarily in the Tampa Bay area. Recognizing the importance of good citizenship, each year we invite nominations of media colleagues for the Tom Schroeppel Award.

Individuals from the Tampa Bay Area who meet the following criteria are eligible for nomination.

The nominee

a) works or has worked in the media industry

b) volunteers time and service to our community and

c) shows outstanding dedication to helping others.

First awarded in 2004, the Tom Schroeppel Award is named in Tom’s honor and was presented to him because, in addition to his media professional work, he is a volunteer in our community, donating many, many hours to several organizations.

Along with recognition at an annual MPFI banquet held in September, MPFI will donate $500 to a non-profit service organization of the recipient’s choice.

We urge you to participate in this recognition program. Nominations for this award close by the end of July each year.

As a group of media professionals, we recognize the importance of commitment to our community and look forward to honoring this year’s award recipient.
