MPFI Mission Statement

The mission of Media Professionals of Florida, Incorporated is to

  • offer professional development opportunities at every meeting,
  • create an awareness in the community of the media profession,
  • provide recognition of its members and their achievements, and
  • give back to the community through member involvement in media-related or service-related activities.

Benefits of Belonging

Monthly meetings, held every second Tuesday of the month, enrich members with informative presentations, technical showcases of the latest industry products, and networking opportunities. The venue for each monthly meeting is selected to offer variety and exposure to different media facilities within the area.

Members and guests are formally surveyed at each meeting allowing their input to form future program selections. The Officers and Board of Directors use the surveys to plan future programs that meet the changing interests and needs of the members.

The organization enhances networking between individuals with similar interests and careers, providing opportunities to share knowledge, ideas and goals in a non-competitive environment.

The organization’s website acts as a service arm to its members, providing an instrument of communication up and down the network. Members have the opportunity to share their skills and companies through the on-line directory, take advantage of a marketing resource on a worldwide basis, publish member news releases, search for positions available within the media community, and locate timely information about upcoming meetings.

A statewide media event, Golden Palm Festival, is held annually to which all MPFI members are invited to enter and attend. The entry fee for members and student members is reduced. The Festival generates funds for scholarships awarded to media students within the state. Vendors assist in the sponsorship and have opportunities to obtain statewide recognition. Award winners receive well-earned recognition by their peers and communities throughout the state.

Membership

Membership in Media Professionals of Florida, Inc. draws from all segments of media professionals. Having members with a wide range of professional backgrounds augments the group and creates opportunities for interaction and sharing of information on a multi-level basis. Annual membership dues are kept at an affordable rate and student annual dues are additionally discounted.

Leadership and Direction

The organization has four officers, President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Officers and Board of Directors are chosen annually by popular vote of the membership. The group meets monthly to perform administrative tasks, to plan meetings and develop long-term goals. Its charge is to keep cohesiveness in short- and long-range planning and provide leadership to the members.

Vendor Support

Vendor Support is important in any organization. Our Vendors provide information, showcases and hands-on testing of the latest products and services. MPFI also supports its vendors by relying upon them for quality products and services.
