August 2002 |
Robert Moore, PhD. presented the topic "Stress Management" to a very interested group. His examples led us into a lively discussion on dealing with clients, bosses, other contacts in a collaborative manner. Dr. Moore gave us some helpful lines that we can use on certain occasions such as,"I need your good input up front," and "Do you want to share something with me?" He also discussed that you dont have to compromise the quality of your work but you also don't want to invalidate the other person's (your boss, employer, etc.) ideas. |

| Three scenarios focused on specific problems encountered while we work through the production process and during these discussions Dr. Moore gave us valuable tips on how we can diffuse these problems. Understanding what people are trying to do from their point of view is critical and giving that individual a "read-back" of their ideas helps in the communication process. | |||||
