Program

Stress Management

Presenter: Dr. Bob Moore

Have you ever been caught in a stressful situation and wondered what to do next? This meeting gives an opportunity to meet with Robert H. Moore, Ph.D. who will take us through some typical scenarios, often experienced in our media business.

Dr. Moore has impressive credentials, from critical stress debriefing and trauma rehabilitation management, to a series of media programs broadcast in California and Florida including “The Human Zoo,” “Rational Living," and “Family Counselor.”

He has experience as a mental health counselor, a marriage, relationship and family counselor, corporate crisis management, debriefing and repair. Although this is a variance from many of our meeting topics, managing stress is a critical behavior that so many of us must deal with every day. Dr. Moore will certainly enlighten us with his presentation and possibly we will all get along just a little better in this “Human Zoo!”

July 2002

The Annual Recognition Dinner Meeting was filled with excellent food, plenty of fun and friendship. The theme at the Crazy Buffet in Tampa was one of recognition for members who have led MPFI during its first 18 months.

After the dinner came the recognition for the exceptional work our board of directors provides to MPFI. Our board is made up of volunteers. We work together to provide informative, educational and entertaining meetings for the media professionals in our area. During the evening we honored the work of our board of directors.

Four members were awarded the President's Award for continually going beyond the expected and providing exploratory service to our organization. The members were Steve Brown, Merrily Miller, Mark Peterson and Tom Schroeppel. They deserve our thanks. Our president, David Rosenblatt, was also presented with an award for his excellent service as president of MPFI.

Next came the fun! ( Tom Schroeppel created and hosted a fact filled fun time of media triva. We were broken into three groups, appropriately named R,G,B, and had a great time trying to beat the other groups. The winners received prizes for their expertise.

Two lucky people won special door prizes. The first door prize was a drip irrigation starter set provided by the Hillsborough County Extension Services. The second door prize was a portable Sony CD Walkman provided by Allied Vaughn. A very special thanks for providing MPFI with these great door prizes
