"Future Media Storage and Delivery Formats"

The November meeting of the Media Profesionals of Florida was held at Pinellas 18 in Clearwater. As usual, the networking and food were great.

Industry magazines were available for anyone who wanted one. Steve Brown, MPFI President, displayed our new Media Professional of Florida cups. They are available for a donation of $5.00.

Steve also introduced those of the new board who were present. From left to Right Dennis port, David Rosenblatt, Tom Krug, steve Brown, Jeremy Hummer, Bryan Dicerb, Betsy Bugeja, and in the back are Jim Siler, Joel Freedman, and Barry Bienstock.

John Evans of Maxell opened the program portion of our meeting with an intoduction to Tony Lopez who is an engineer for Maxell

Tony highlighted the importance of selecting a media that will last. He covered the quality and production capabilies of Maxell and described the different optical formats available today. He pointed out that a DVD - or DVD+ can hold 7 hours of audio; 60 hours of MP-3 music; 4.7 GB of data; 120 minutes of high-quality video; or up to 1400 high resolution images.

After the meeting a lot of people received some great doorprizes from MPFI and Maxell and then got a grand tour of Pinellas Television facilities.
