"NAB Wrap-Up - from this year’s show in Las Vegas!"
At our 2008 NAB Wrap-Up meeting Mike Sims, Joel Freedman and Steve Brown each gave us a peek into what went on at NAB this year. City of Tampa Cable hosted this months meeting. A special thanks to Mindy Snyder for hosting and providing a tour of their facility.
The only thing better than the great food was the networking. As usual it's an excellent opportunity to make new business contacts.
Mike Sims provided an overview (along with a video) of what the event was like.

Joel and Steve used Power Point shows to highlight some of the new and interesting products that they found at the show.

Steve Brown showed products ranging from the new multi-functional Zylight on-camera light to new monitor technology (Field Emission Display) and a Compact Flash solid state recording device.
And what would the NAB show be without some celebrity appearances?  Pictured here is Les Stroud from the “Survivorman” series, appearing at an opening night event, presented by Sony.
Of course, there was no shortage of new software for production and post production.  One of the most innovative tools for Mac is the ScopeBox 2.0.

Joel Freedman - 2 Hungry Dogs

Joel Freedman is the founder of 2 Hungry Dogs Productions. Joel has over 15 years of experience in the video industry. He continues to provide broadcast quality video production for clients like CBS News,Fox News, SpeedChannel, ESPN, the History Channel and more. Before starting 2 Hungry Dogs Productions, Joel earned a BA from James Madison University in Telecommunications. He then gained experience as a staff member of several production facilities and television stations.

Steve Brown - 10-20 Productions

As owner/operator of 10-20 Productions since 1986, Steve Brown provides location video, lighting and audio equipment and crew for broadcast and corporate production.  He also works regularly as director, camera operator, gaffer and lighting director for a variety of clients including ABC Sports, American Express, Bank of America, Busch Gardens, C-SPAN, Darden Restaurants, Discovery Channel, Entertainment Tonight, FOX Sports, Golf Channel, GTE, Harpo Productions, Home Shopping Network, Jabil Circuit, Met Life, NBC, Outback Steakhouse, Price Waterhouse Coopers, Paramount Pictures, Time Warner Communications, and Walt Disney World.

Steve has served as camera operator and director of photography on numerous award winning productions, including one that received a Crystal Reel Award and two that garnered ADDY awards.
