May. 2006

We met at the Access Pinellas studio and facilities in Clearwater. They were outstanding

We came, we signed in, we snacked and we networked.
After networking and snacks our President Tom Krug started tonight's Big Post NAB meeting!

Mike Sims of Sims Video, Inc. showed us a video highlighting the scope of NAB, the conference and the exhibits.
Jeremy Hummer of High Tech Trading talked about the many faces of "High Resolution" covering items from the RED camera that delivers 11.4M pixels at up to 60fps to some of the new Sony HDV products that might be coming soon to a dealer near you.

Jeremy also covered the Japan's new NHK Ultra-High Definition TV System. The 4320-line Ultra High Definition TV system is intended to present images so real that they make viewers feel as if they are in the scene. The Ultra High Definition TV system relies on 32 million pixels — 7680 x 4320 — in a 16:9 aspect ratio to achieve that effect. It relies on 22.2 multichannel sound consisting of three vertical layers of speakers to produce a 3-D soundscape to help pull viewers into the scene.

David Pless of New River Productions covered a new line of products from Matthews called the "Road Flags System" and several of the"Road Rags" that he uses. The units fold up into small carying cases.

David also showed us some pictures from "Picture This Productions" of the adapted Segway system designed to be used as a camera platform for the Panasonic HVX-200 camera.

Steve Brown of 1020 Productions showed us several of the new high definition monitors as well as new monitor/scopes such as the Leader unit shown above that Steve uses.

Steve also covered innovative audio products such as the Ricsonic Pin-Mic, the new Countryman E6i Headset mic, Zaxcom transceivers and the DV ProMix 6 from Professional Sound Corporation.

Steve also talked about the New Panasonic HDX900 HD camera which is a multi-format DVCPRO HD camcorder that is placing full production-quality HD within reach of a wider range of budgets. Steve owns the Panasonic SDX900. The HDX900 is an HD version of the SDX900 shown here.
Also shown were new Electrosonics super miniature transmitter and receivers.
Everyone enjoyed the meeting and clapped for more. And, in case you didn't get to go to the convention, Las Vegas style door prizes were given away as well.
