"Streaming Video? Progressive Download?

What’s Going On?"

Networking at WFLA was fun, great food in the studio and as always an excellent opportunity to make new business contacts.
David Rosenblatt, president of Silver Image Interactive, Inc. was our presenter for the March MPFI meeting. He covered streaming video, progressive video and the encoding and compression needed to get there.
David went into detail on the different video formats, codecs and compression options available.

Above are examples from the multimedia presentation showing streaming technologies and how they worked.

Throughout the program video examples were shown with the encoding data available for comparison.

Here David discusses how to suck strawberry jam (video) through a straw (56k modem).

After the meeting we had an excellent tour of the WFLA, Tampa Tribune and Tampa Bay Online facilities.
Here Tod Sullivan, Production Supervisor, takes us into the heart of the WFLA news room, where we see the reporters at work.
The control room is completly automated and we got an in-depth look at how it operates
A special Thanks to WFLA for being a great host to the Media professionals of Florida.
