February's meeting was creative and informative and was held at the Hillsborough Community College Dale Mabry Campus

Networking and good food combines to create a great start to another Media Professionals of Florida meeting. A special thanks to Cathy Straka for providing some excellent eats!
The technical track was provided by Ellie Hirsch of Getty Images. Ellie gave us material on both film collection and image collection. She covered Rights-Managed versus buyout images and explained how Getty staff provides free digital research and the process of licensing Film footage.
Ellie also covered some of the new Film collections from Getty Images, such as Air Hollywood and 3D4 Medical in addition to Universal Studios, Imagebank Film, Archive Films and many more. This was an informative tech track to be sure. For more information contact Ellie at (813) 383-3931 or at ellie.hirsch@gettyimages.com
Our main program "Dave Puts You in the Director's Chair" was an in-depth tour of formerly Macromedia's and now Adobe's "Director." Dave brought us into the "Theatre" and took us on "Stage" to show us how the "Cast" and "Sprites" worked.

We looked into the many features of Director including full MPEG2 and MPEG4 quality video in a multimedia product, A fully interactive 3D environment and a scripting language "LINGO" with over 1,500 commands available.
Dave showed how Silver Image Interactive, Inc. uses "LINGO" to creat custom games that enhance the many museum interactive exhibits his company produces.
And finally we saw a 3D game created in Director and running on the WEB using "Shockwave" - Director's method of providing content on the WEB.
Special thanks to Jim Hypes of Recording Media & Equipment http://www.rmeinc.com of Orlando and Ellie Hirsch of Getty http://www.gettyimages.com Images for some of our doorprizes.
