"Sony HD Cameras"

The High End and the New HD Format.

This month's meeting was held at the City of Tampa Cable production facility and, as usual, it was very informative. The guests also were treated to a tour as well. A special thanks to Mindy Snyder, our host.
Networking in the Tampa bay area is all about exchanging ideas and meeting new people. With over 50 people attending this meeting it was exceptional.
Steve Brown, MPFI President, covered important information about the Media Professionals of Florida organization and showed off the new MPFI cups that are available for only $5.00.
Jeremy Hummer, MPFI board member, and manager from the local Sony dealer Hi-Tech Enterprises, presented Don Browning, sales support for Sony in Florida and Dhanendra Patel, Sony HD support engineer from Los Angeles.
Dhanendra Patel, who flew in from Los Angeles for the event, presented the new HD camera, showing its multitude of features.
Dhanendra Patel demonstrated the HDW-F900, the flagship of Sony's HDTV camera line with a price tag of $98,000. If you are in need of a camera that's quality is so good it can be used to produce a film master, this is the one.
For the rest of us, the all new Sony $5,900 HVR-Z1U provides access to HD with a bandwidth that takes advantage of current non-linear editors and standard storage technology (meaning you don't have to spend another $10,000 to 15,000 to update your NLE with SDI interface cards and an expensive RAID storage system.
