"Determining Exposure
Using Analog and Digital Methods”
| This month's meeting was held at Shooting Stars Post in Tampa (www.sspmedia.com) and we were able to spend some time networking and snacking. |
| John Samaha, President of Shooting Stars Post, gave us a tour of his upscale facilities including studio space and editing suites. For more info, contact Shooting Stars at Marketing@sspmedia.com. |
| We toured one of Shooting Stars Post editing suites with full audio and video capabilities. |
| We had a great turnout! Here Gregory "Grab" Szenas gave introductory comments about exposure and lighting to an obviously attentive group. |
| Grab explained incident, reflective and spot metering as well as a bit about color temperature meters. |
Changing the angle of the light (or the subject) makes a difference… especially if the subject is reflective. This was a shining example! To contact Grab, email him at grab@sunwolf.com
Thanks to Gregg Wolf for providing the one ton lighting truck for this presentation! Check out the website www.sunwolf.com)! |

Tommy Goodson from Leader Electronics (www.LeaderUSA.com) helped us to “see” the exposure when viewed electronically. Here, you see Leader’s LV5330 Multi-SDI Monitor (inset - http://www.leaderusa.com/web/products/video_monitor/lv5330.htm) and Leader’s LV5800 Multi Monitor Platform. (background, right - http://www.leaderusa.com/web/products/video_monitor/lv5800.htm).
These monitors are much more than a waveform, vectorscope and picture monitor! The new LV5380 is not shown here, but is really worth a look if you’re interested in gear like this (http://www.leaderusa.com/web/products/video_monitor/lv5380.htm).
To provide clear exposure examples the DSC Chroma DuMonde chart was placed in front of a Panasonic HDX900 DVC-Pro HD camera.
The images were also displayed on a new TV-Logic LVM - 171WP 17” Multi-Format HD Monitor (see above, right) provided by Rick Trock from Trock Media Solutions (www.trockmedia.com).
| Here again, Tommy Goodson explains more about Leader’s innovative ways of displaying the signal electronically using methods that are less technical for the non-engineers. He went through Leader’s CINELIGHT, CINEZONE and 5-Bar Display… all great new tools! |
Rick Trock discussed pricing for the electronic test/display items shown at the meeting. If you have questions about any of the gear shown at the meeting, contact Rick at rick@trockmedia.com or at www.trockmedia.com.

| A special thanks to John Samaha, President of Shooting Stars Post, for hosting a great meeting. For more info, contact Shooting Stars at Marketing@sspmedia.com or at www.sspmedia.com. |
