October's meeting was "Member Challenges and Solutions in Audio, Video, and Multimedia" and was held at Hillsborough Television in Tampa. Presenters were Patrick Dowling, Mark Peterson, Domingo Morales, Tom Krug and Merrily Miller and David Rosenblatt. They covered challenges from developing a music video to creating video buttons in a multimedia program. It was an entertaining time and everyone picked up a few solutions to everyday problems. A special thanks to Hillsborough Television for hosting the meeting and for the tour of their facility after the meeting. |

We jammed almost 50 eager guests into the City Council chambers at St. Petersburg City Hall. In a fresh format change, the meeting had four shorter presentations of 25 minutes each. Jack Amos reminded us how professional actors can save us much more than their fees.Dennis Port showed a broad variety of devices he has developed to improve his video productions. Sharon Hill outlined a plan to market our how-to videos on a new website venture. And Mark Zintel brought examples of what a good recording studio--and voice talent--brings to an audio track. Then host Cathi Brake s staff gave tours of City of St. Petersburg Television complex. Tuesday, Nov. 13th was a very full evening of professional growth. |

Dec. 11th 2001 |
We had a great MPFI party at Pop City in Channelside downtown Tampa. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed celebrating the season with our friends in MPFI. A fun triva contest was staged by Tom Schroeppel and prizes were awarded to the most knowledgeable table in the group. Afterwards some party-goers went to the IMAX Theatre and others just checked out the many different entertainment venues at Channelside. |
