Technical Track/ Vendor Showcase

January 2001

The Technical Track/Vendor Showcase was presented by Mark Stephenson of Better Presentations, Inc. Mark gave us a hands-on-view of the Targa 3000 board from Pinnacle Systems. He demonstrated that it can render up to 8 layers in real time. It was a great demonstration of efficiency and image quality. Anyone considering a new non-linear system today should call Mark at (800) 227-1566 and see the Targa System before making a purchase.

Main Program

The main program was "Editing: Problems, Solutions & Techniques" presented by Mark Peterson of WaterMark Video. Mark demonstrated some of the problems editors come across and how to tackle them. Mark found ways to handle problems that crop up during production and he shared a secret or two. Mark really showed us how to "fix it in post!"
I know at least 6 new solutions for my next edit session because I came to January’s meeting.

Thanks to both Marks for a very informative meeting!
